What this site is
It is an information page. There is no account, no online booking form and no shop. You can read the hours and tap the number to call. That is all the site asks of you.
What we do not collect here
This website does not ask for your name, your phone number or your email. It does not run advertising and it does not use a third-party analytics product. The music button plays sound inside your browser and saves nothing.
If you contact the garage
If you phone or email us about a vehicle, we use those details to answer you and to do the work you asked for. We do not sell them and we do not pass them to advertisers.
Nessi, the chat assistant
The chat button on the home page opens Nessi, a virtual receptionist. The quick buttons answer from fixed text. If you type your own question, your messages for that conversation are sent to an artificial-intelligence service (Google, with Groq as a back-up) so that it can write a reply. We do not keep the conversation and we do not ask for your name or contact details, so please do not type personal details into it. For bookings, call us or use WhatsApp. Nessi can make mistakes: the team confirms anything important.
Your browser may remember for the length of your visit that you have already seen Nessi's greeting. That note is not a cookie and is gone when you close the tab.
The server log
Like any website, our server keeps a technical log of connections. For each visit it records your IP address, the date and time, the page asked for, and the browser and language your device reports.
We keep this log for up to 30 days, then it is deleted automatically. We use it for two things only: to keep the site secure, and to count how many people use it, in totals. The log is seen only by the person who looks after the website.
An approximate location, such as the country or town, is worked out from the IP address on our own server. It is not sent to anyone else. We do not build profiles of individual visitors, we do not sell this information and we do not share it with advertisers. We may pass it on if the law requires us to.
Our reason for keeping it is a legitimate interest: protecting the site from attacks and knowing whether it is useful. You can ask to see what we hold about you, ask us to delete it, or object to it, by phone or email above. If you are unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
